Police reserve and the operations they were involved with. The b. S. A. P. Was the police forec in rhodesia. Rhodesia is now called zimbabwe.Zimbabwe is a country in southern africa. Teh b. S. A. P. Stands for british south africa police. The police force in zimbabwe is now called the zrp (zimbabwe republic police). The plaque is metal (brass i think and black enamel) omunted on a backing board which in turn is mounted on a shield shaped wooden board. The wooden board is an attractive hardwood, possibly teak, or mukwa? The plaque features an armoured vehicle set against a map of rhodesia above and below are scrolls wirtten the reconnaissance unit, b. S. A. P. Reserve, repulse, thresher, the roaring sixties, hurricane. These were the names of some of teh operations in the rhodesian bush war that the b. S. A. P. Was involved in. The plaque is in excellent condition. There is a loop at the bakc so it is ready to be wall mounted. The plaque probably dates from the 1970's but it may date from the 80's? Neverthless it is an item that is very hrad to come across. I was in harare, zimbabwe recently where i found this, but i don't collect militaria/police items so hence i am selling it. It is about 18cm in length, it is 14.5cm wide and it weighs 310 grams. This item would appeal to collectors of militaria, collectors of bsap material, collectors ofwall plaques, collectors of zimbabwean/rhodesian mementos, colectors of material related to the rhodesian bush war, ex-members of the bsap, and ex-rhodesians & zimbabweans etc etc i will give a refund fi buyer is unhappy.
